Clock drift

Clock drift is when your clock or watch runs either slower or faster than it is supposed to. This can happen because the time it takes for the battery or the battery-powered circuit inside the clock to run isn't exact. Think of it like water running out of a faucet. If you turn a faucet to the medium setting but it is really on the low setting, then the water flows out much more slowly. The same thing can happen with clocks, if it is supposed to move at a certain speed but is actually going slower or faster then it causes the clock to "drift" or move away from the correct time.
