ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cloning

Cloning is like when you make a copy of something. It usually happens with animals or plants, but it can be done with cells, too. It's a bit like making an identical twin—you start with one animal or plant, and then you make a copy of it. The copy has the same genetic material as the original, so it looks and acts like the original. Scientists can use cloning to create new plants and animals with specific characteristics, like specific disease resistance or fur color.
