ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Coal Measures Group

The coal measures group is a big pile of rocks that we find in certain parts of the Earth. These rocks were formed a long, long time ago, when there were big trees and plants all over the place. These trees and plants were buried under the ground, and over time, they turned into coal. That's why we call it "coal measures" - it's a group of rocks that has a lot of coal in it.

Scientists can study these rocks to learn more about what the Earth was like a long time ago. They can also use the coal that's in the rocks to make electricity, which is really important for our homes and schools and businesses. So, even though the coal measures group may seem like just a big, boring pile of rocks, it's actually really important for our world today.
