Coal in Canada

Coal is a kind of rock that comes from the ground and is really good at making energy. It has been used for a very long time to make things like heat for people's homes, and to make electricity that powers things like light bulbs and computers.

Canada has a lot of coal, which is found in the ground in different parts of the country. In fact, Canada is one of the biggest producers of coal in the world! The coal is usually mined or dug out of the ground by workers using big machines.

Some people think that using coal is not good for the environment because burning it can make a lot of pollution. Pollution is like when there is too much smoke or dirt or other yucky things in the air, water or land which can make it hard for plants and animals to live. So, sometimes people are trying to find other ways to make energy that are less harmful to the environment.

However, coal is still used because it is a very cheap way to make energy. Because Canada has a lot of coal, it can be an important source of power for the country. But, we need to make sure that we use it responsibly and safely so that we can protect the environment for the future.
