ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Coffee preparation

Okay kiddo, let me explain how coffee is made. First, we need to start with some coffee beans. These are little brown things that come from a plant.

To make coffee, we need to grind up the beans into very small pieces. We use a special machine called a grinder to do this. The ground-up beans are called "coffee grounds".

Next, we put the coffee grounds into a special filter paper, which we put into a machine called a coffee maker. We add water to the coffee maker, and turn it on. The water heats up and goes through the coffee grounds and filter paper, making coffee.

When the coffee is ready, we can pour it into a cup and add things like milk, sugar, or cream to make it taste even better. And that's how coffee is made!
