Coil spring

A coil spring is like a squiggly piece of metal that can be used to make things bounce and move around. Picture a slinky toy that you can pull and stretch. That's kind of like a coil spring!

In a car, for example, the coil spring is squished between the car's body and the wheels. When you hit a bump, the spring gets squished down and stores energy. Then, when you go over the bump, the spring bounces back up and releases that energy, making the car bounce a little bit. It helps make the ride feel smoother so you don't get jolted around too much.

Coil springs can also be found in other things like mattresses, chairs, and even toys. They all work the same way by compressing and releasing energy to make things move around.
