Cold War playground equipment

Cold war playground equipment was the type of playground equipment that was created during the time period of the "Cold War" (1945-1989). The Cold War was a time when the United States and the Soviet Union (Russia) were competing against each other in different ways and a lot of it was done on the playground. The playground equipment during this time period was designed to have an military theme and look. The designs included equipment that looked like military tanks, guns, planes, and submarines. So even though it looked like like real military equipment, it had been changed so that it was still safe for kids to play on.
