Coliboaia Cave

Coliboaia cave is like a secret clubhouse for really old animals and humans. It's a big hole in the ground that has been around for a really, really long time - even longer than your grandparents or great-grandparents! It's filled with rocks and soil and cool things to see like huge icicles that look like they're made of crystal.

A long time ago, animals that lived around the cave like mammoths and bears would go inside to hide from the cold weather. They would leave behind their poop and bones, which scientists found and studied to learn more about these animals.

But then, humans came along and started to use the cave too! They would light fires inside to keep warm and cook their food. They also made art on the cave walls with colorful clay, sort of like a really big coloring book. Scientists call these drawings "paintings" and they are very special because they are so old - like super, super great-grandparent old!

Nowadays, people still visit Coliboaia cave to learn more about the cool things that happened there a very long time ago. But it's important to be careful and not touch anything because it's fragile like a delicate art project. So, we can just look and appreciate how neat it is from afar!
