So imagine, there are two big statues in Egypt that are so big, they are called the Colossi of Memnon. They are really tall, like 60 feet tall! They are so old, that they were made around 3,400 years ago!
The Colossi of Memnon were built by people who lived in Egypt a long, long time ago called the Pharaohs. These pharaohs were really important rulers who wanted to show how powerful they were by making really big and impressive things.
The Colossi of Memnon used to be part of a bigger temple that was dedicated to the pharaoh Amenhotep III. But the temple got destroyed a long time ago, so all that's left now are these two statues standing in the desert.
Now, here's the really interesting thing about the Colossi of Memnon. People used to think that one of the statues, the one on the left, would sing a song every morning, but that's not what really happened. What really happened was, there was a crack in the statue and when the sun would shine on it in the morning, it would create a sound like someone singing! Even though we know now that it's not really singing, it's still a really cool thing to think about!
So that's the story of the Colossi of Memnon! They're big statues that were made by powerful rulers a long time ago, and one of them used to make a cool sound when it got sunlight!
