Combined oral contraceptive pill

So, you know how a baby grows in a mommy's tummy? Well, sometimes mommies don't want a baby yet because they want to finish school or maybe they're too busy. That's where the combined oral contraceptive pill comes in!

The pill is a tiny pill that mommies can take every day to prevent them from getting pregnant. It's like a secret shield that stops mommy's body from releasing an egg that could turn into a baby.

The pill has two kinds of hormones in it, estrogen and progestin, which help keep the mommy's body from releasing an egg. But that's not all they do! These hormones also make the lining in the mommy's tummy thicker so that even if an egg somehow does get fertilized (which means a sperm meets the egg and starts to grow), it can't attach to the mommy's tummy and grow into a baby.

It's important to take the pill at the same time every day and not miss any pills because if mommy forgets, the shield won't be as strong and she could end up pregnant. And if you have any questions about the pill or if it's right for you, the mommy can talk to her doctor who can explain more.
