ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Commit (data management)

When you save your work in a computer program, you create a "commit." This is like taking a picture of what you've done and putting it in a special folder. This helps you keep track of changes you make and makes it easy to go back to an earlier version if you need to. Think of it like taking a picture of your artwork each time you add something new to it, so you can see how it changes over time.
