ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Commonwealth Caribbean

So you know how you're a part of your family, and your family is a part of your neighborhood, and your neighborhood is a part of your city or town, right? Well, imagine if there were a bunch of families living on different islands, but they were all part of one big group, kind of like a family of families. That's kind of what the Commonwealth Caribbean is!

It's a group of 13 countries in the Caribbean that were all once part of the British Empire - just like you might be part of your family, and your family is part of a bigger group, these countries were all part of the British family, so to speak. They have their own governments now, but they still have a lot in common because of their history.

Even though each country has its own unique culture and customs, they all share some things, like a love for cricket (which is kind of like baseball, but a little different), a love for food like jerk chicken and roti, and a love for the beautiful beaches and clear blue water that surround their islands.

The Commonwealth Caribbean is a place full of unique cultures and people, but they're all brought together by their shared history and love for their home islands.
