ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Communal land

Communal land is land that is owned by a group of people or a community, instead of one particular person or business. Everyone in the community has a right to use the land, and they have a responsibility to take care of the land, too. That means the community might have rules about how the land is used and who is allowed to use it. For example, they might say that only members of the community can hunt or fish in certain areas, or they might require that people who use the land don't do anything to harm it.
