Communist purges in Serbia in 1944–1945

Okay, imagine you're playing with your toys and you have a bunch of friends who also have toys. Now, imagine one of your friends really wants all the toys for themselves and doesn't want anyone else to have any toys. That's kind of what communism is like, except instead of toys it's things like land, money, and power.

In Serbia in 1944-1945, there were people who believed in communism and wanted to take control of the country. However, there were also people who didn't agree with communism and wanted things to stay the way they were.

The people who wanted communism to take over decided to get rid of anyone who didn't agree with them. They did this by something called "purges". This means they would arrest, imprison, or even kill anyone who didn't agree with them or was in their way.

This led to a lot of people being hurt and killed, and it was a very scary time for anyone who didn't support communism. In the end, the communist party took control of Serbia and things changed a lot, but it came at a very high cost. The purges showed that when people want power, they may do terrible things to get it.
