ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Community arts

Community arts is when lots of people come together to do art together. Think about when you're in school and your teacher gives you and your classmates markers and paper, and you all draw something different, but you're drawing in the same room. That's kind of like community arts!

It's not just drawing, though! When we say "art," we mean all kinds of things people can do to be creative together. That could be singing, dancing, acting, writing stories and poems, making sculptures or collages, and even making cool designs on the sidewalk with chalk.

When people do community arts, they usually have a goal in mind. Maybe they want to make their neighborhood look a little brighter by painting a mural on the side of a building. Or maybe they want to make everyone feel closer together by having a big group dance party. Whatever the goal is, it usually involves people coming together to make something unique and special.

Community arts can be really fun, but it's also special because it brings people closer together. When we work on art projects with other people, we share our ideas and our creativity, and we learn from each other. Sometimes we even make new friends! It's a great way to show people that we are all different and have unique things to offer, but we can still come together to make something beautiful.
