Community supported fishery

Okay kiddo, so you know how sometimes we go to the grocery store and buy fish to eat, right? Well, a community supported fishery (CSF) is kinda like that, but it's a special way to buy fish freshly caught by fishermen who live near us.

So, in a CSF, we become members of a group of people who want to support local fishermen and eat fresh, sustainable seafood. We pay upfront for a season (which is a few months long) and in return, we get a share of the fish that the fishermen catch.

This means that we don't get to choose exactly which fish we get, because it depends on what the fishermen catch that day. But the good news is that it's always super fresh and we get a variety of fish throughout the season.

CSFs are a great way to support our local community and make sure we're eating healthy, sustainable seafood that's good for the environment too. Plus, it's a fun way to learn about different kinds of fish and try new recipes!
