ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Compliance (medicine)

Okay kiddo, so you know how when you get sick and the doctor gives you some medicine to take? Compliance means following the instructions about taking that medicine exactly as the doctor told you to.

It's important to take medicine the right way because it can help you get better faster and prevent more health problems from happening. But sometimes people forget to take their medicine or they don't take it at the right time or they don't take the right amount, and that can be dangerous.

So compliance is like doing what you're supposed to do to get better. And if you're not sure how to take your medicine, you can always ask your mom or dad or the doctor to explain it to you again to make sure you're doing it right.
