Okay kiddo, so back in medieval times, people fought a lot with swords, axes, and arrows. To protect themselves from getting hurt, they wore special clothing called armor.
Armor was made up of different parts, each covering a specific part of the body. Let's start with the head. The helmet protected the head from getting hit by swords or arrows. It covered the whole head and had a special part called a visor that could open and close to protect the face.
Moving down the body, the next part was the breastplate, which covered the chest and stomach. Then there was the backplate which protected the back. Shoulder plates protected the shoulders and arm plates covered the arms.
The legs were protected with greaves, which covered the lower legs and shin guards that protected the shins. The feet were protected by special shoes called sabatons.
All the armored pieces were made from different materials like iron, steel, or leather. There were also different types of armor, like chain mail or plate armor, which were made by connecting thousands of small metal rings together or using bigger pieces of metal to form the armor.
Wearing armor was really heavy and uncomfortable, but it was important for knights and soldiers to wear it to stay safe in battle. So, that's why each part of armor was important and why people wore them in medieval times.
