Comptroller and Auditor General of India

The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India is like a very important check and balance person for the government of India. Just like how your parents or guardians keep a check on what you spend your pocket money on, the CAG checks on how the government is spending its money.

The CAG is responsible for making sure that the government does not overspend and that the money allocated to various departments and programs is being used in the right way. The CAG also checks that the government is following the rules and regulations set up for the use of public funds.

Think of the CAG as a watchdog who makes sure that the government is behaving properly when it comes to money matters. The CAG has a big responsibility to keep a close eye on government spending so that the people of India can trust that their tax money is being used in the right way.
