ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Connected ring

Imagine you have a big, round toy that is made up of lots of smaller toy rings all hooked together. This big toy is called a connected ring. Each of the small toy rings is connected to two other rings, so they form a big circle that you can twist and turn around.

Just like this big toy, there are things in real life that can be called a connected ring. For example, sometimes computer networks or phone systems are made up of lots of smaller units that are all connected together in a big circle. This helps them work together and send information where it needs to go.

The idea of a connected ring is all about things being connected to each other in a big loop. It's like having a really long chain, but instead of the chain ending somewhere, it just keeps going around and around in a circle. This is called a closed loop, because there is no beginning or end, just a continuous circle.
