Nazism was a government in Germany during the 1930s and 1940s that tried to take control of Europe by using violence and prejudice to force people to obey them. The consequences of this were very bad: millions of people were killed, cities were destroyed, and there was a lot of suffering. People were forced to follow the Nazi laws or face harsh punishments like being sent to prison or worse. Jews were especially persecuted, and many were killed, sent to concentration camps, or forced to flee their homes. The Nazis also started World War II, which caused many more deaths before they were defeated. All these consequences of Nazism left a lasting legacy that still affects us today.
