Conservatism in the United States
Conservatism in the United States is about trying to keep things the same as they used to be. Conservatives believe that it is important to preserve traditional values and customs. This means that they don't like change very much and that they prefer things to stay the same or stay close to the way they were before. Conservatives also are usually very supportive of businesses, meaning they think businesses should be allowed to do what they want and make lots of money. On the other hand, they often don't support programs that help those in need, like people who are homeless or people who can't afford food.
