ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Consortium

A consortium is like a group of friends who work together to do something. Let's say you and your friends want to build a tower of blocks. You can each try to build your own tower, but it might not be very stable or tall. But if you work together and put all your blocks together, you can build a really big and strong tower!

Now imagine that instead of building blocks, the group of friends wants to do something bigger, like build a big bridge or create a new technology. That's when a consortium can be really helpful. It's a group of companies or organizations that come together to work on a big project or goal.

Each company or organization in the consortium brings their own expertise or resources to the table. Just like how your friend who's good at building blocks might be able to help make the tower stronger, each member of the consortium can help make the project better. They can share their ideas, skills, and resources to create something really cool and useful.

And since they're working together, they can also share the costs and risks of the project. If one group gets stuck or runs out of money, the others can pitch in and help. That way, they can all share in the success - and have more fun along the way!
