ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Constructive possession

Constructive possession is a way of owning something without actually having it in your hands. It means that even if the police don't catch you with something illegal in your hands, you can still be responsible and guilty of owning it because the police can show, or 'prove', that you had some sort of control over it. For example, if there are drugs in your house or car and the police think they belong to you, they can try to prove that you knew they were there and that you were going to use them in some way.
