ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Consumer generated marketing

Hey kiddo, have you ever seen a commercial on TV or online where people talk about how much they love a product? That's called consumer generated marketing!

Basically, consumer generated marketing is when regular people like you and me create content about a product or service to share with other people. It can be anything from a review on Amazon to a photo on Instagram showing how much we love a particular product.

Companies love this kind of marketing because it helps spread the word about their products and services. When we tell our friends and family about something we like, they might go out and try it too. It's kind of like when you tell your friend about your favorite toy and they want to play with it too!

Sometimes, companies will even ask people to create content about their products and share it online. This is called a user-generated content campaign. For example, a company might ask people to make a video about why they love a certain product and share it on social media. Then, they'll share the best ones on their own website or social media pages.

So, next time you share a photo or review of something you love, remember that you're playing an important part in consumer generated marketing!
