ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Consumer-to-business

Well, imagine you are a kid who loves to eat cookies. You ask your mom to buy you some cookies and she goes to the store to get them for you. In this case, you are the consumer and your mom is the business.

Now, let's say that the store where your mom buys the cookies from wants to know what kind of cookies you like the most so they can make more of them. They would ask your mom to ask you what your favorite cookie is. This is an example of business-to-consumer interaction.

But sometimes, the situation can be reversed. For example, let's say that you are a very smart kid and you know how to bake cookies. You make some delicious cookies and want to sell them to people who love cookies, like your mom. This is called consumer-to-business interaction because the consumer (you) are selling something to the business (the store).

In summary, consumer-to-business is when a consumer (a person who wants to sell something) interacts with a business (a company that wants to buy something) instead of the other way around where the business interacts with the consumer.
