Contentious politics

Controversial politics is when people disagree about what the best way to do something is. It can be as small as deciding who gets to ride in the front seat of a car, or as big as deciding who will be the president of a country. People can have different opinions, and they can argue and disagree. Usually, these arguments can get very heated and conflict can arise, which makes it a contentious topic.
