Continuous cover forestry

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a forest before? Trees that grow tall and provide shade and homes for animals. Well, sometimes people cut down those trees for wood or to make space for farms or buildings.

But there's a type of forest called continuous cover forestry where people don't clear cut or chop down all the trees at once. Instead, they only take out a few trees at a time, and only when it won't hurt the environment or the animals that call the forest their home.

This way, there's always some trees left standing to keep the soil from washing away or to provide shelter for animals. It's like taking care of the forest like a big garden, making sure everything grows healthy and strong.

Continuous cover forestry is like being careful and responsible with nature, so that people can keep using the forest for wood and other things, but not at the expense of hurting the environment.
