ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Continuous wavelet transform

The Continuous Wavelet Transform is like a magnifying glass you put over a picture. When you look through the magnifying glass, you can see a zoomed-in version of the picture and it is easier to see the small details. With the Continuous Wavelet Transform, you can take a signal (like a sound or a heartbeat) and zoom in to see all the small details that were too hard to see before. You can also get an idea of how strong the signal was at a certain time.
