The people who control the national grid are like traffic cops who help keep the electricity moving in the right direction. They use computers to keep track of how much electricity is being used and make sure that there is enough to meet everyone's needs. They can also adjust the amount of electricity that is sent out to different places depending on the time of day and what people need. This way everyone has the electricity they need but we don't waste electricity.
