Convex mirror

Have you ever looked at yourself in a spoon or a ball and noticed that your face looks really weird and small? That's because those objects are curved, and when things are curved, they can make things look different than they really are.

Convex mirrors are kind of like that. They are mirrors that are curved outward like a bowl. When you look at yourself in a convex mirror, it makes you look smaller and farther away.

The reason convex mirrors do this is because they reflect light in a way that makes it diverge, or spread out. When the light hits the mirror, it bounces off and goes in different directions, which makes the image you see in the mirror smaller and farther away than it really is.

Convex mirrors are used in all sorts of places, like parking lots and security mirrors. They help people see things that are behind them or around corners, even if they can't look directly at them. And that's a pretty handy thing to have!
