Corn ethanol

Corn ethanol is a type of fuel made from corn. Corn is a type of plant that grows in fields and farmers grow a lot of corn in America. To make corn ethanol, the corn is first ground up into a powder. This powder is then mixed with water and chemicals to create a mash.

This mash is then heated up and certain types of bacteria are added to it. These bacteria are like tiny little living things that eat the sugar in the corn and turn it into alcohol. This alcohol is called ethanol and it is the fuel that we can use in many different types of vehicles like cars, trucks, and buses.

The ethanol is then separated from the mash and purified, which means that all the extra stuff is taken out to make sure that the fuel is clean and safe to use. Once the ethanol is purified, it can be mixed with gasoline to create a special fuel blend that can be used to power cars and other vehicles.

Some people like corn ethanol because it can be grown in America and it is a renewable resource, which means that we can always grow more corn and make more ethanol. However, other people don't like it because they think that it can be expensive to make and it might not be as good for the environment as some other types of fuel.
