ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cornering force

Cornering force is like when you go around a corner in a car or on a bike. When you turn, your wheels need to create a force to help you stay on the road and not slide off.

Think of it like when you're playing with your toy cars and you turn them quickly around a corner - they might tip over or fall off the road if you're not careful. The same thing can happen when you're driving or biking if there isn't enough force to help you stay on the road.

This force is created by the friction between your wheels (or tires) and the ground. Friction is like when you rub your hands together - it creates heat and helps things to stick together. When your wheels turn, the friction helps them to grip the road and push you around the corner.

So, your wheels and tires need to be in good condition and have good grip to create enough cornering force. And, you also need to be going at the right speed - too fast and you might lose control, too slow and you might not have enough force to turn. It's all about finding the right balance!
