Coromandel screen

A coromandel screen is like a big, fancy room divider. It's made out of wood and is covered in a beautiful design that's usually painted onto the wood or carved into it.

People in China used to use coromandel screens as both decorations and functional pieces of furniture. They would put them up in a room to divide it into different spaces or to cover up unattractive parts of the room.

The name "coromandel" comes from a region in India where the screens were first made. But the screens became really popular in China, where they were made with intricate designs that could tell stories or have special meanings.

Today, coromandel screens are still considered to be very luxurious and elegant. They are often used in fancy hotels, restaurants, and homes to add a touch of sophistication to the decor.
