Coronary angiography

Once the tube is in place, the doctor will inject a special dye into the tube. This dye is like a special paint that helps the doctor see the blood vessels on a special camera. The camera takes lots of pictures of the heart and the blood vessels.

These pictures can show the doctor if there are any problems with the heart or the blood vessels. For example, they might see a blockage in one of the coronary arteries, which could mean that the heart isn't getting enough blood.
