Court of Exchequer (Scotland)

Okay kiddo! The Court of Exchequer is a big fancy court in Scotland where important people go to settle arguments about money and taxes.

It's kind of like a big game where each person has to prove that they deserve to keep the money or get their taxes lowered. Imagine playing with your toys and your friend says they own all the toys. You would want to prove that you actually own some of the toys too, right?

So in this court, some people are called judges. They listen carefully to both sides of the argument and then decide who gets to keep the money or if the taxes need to be changed.

Sometimes the Court of Exchequer even has to decide on really big money things like how much people in Scotland should have to pay in taxes to the king or queen!

In the end, the goal of the Court of Exchequer is to make things fair and solve arguments in a peaceful way.
