Coventry Blitz
Okay kiddo, during World War II, there was a big fight between different countries called a war. One of the countries fighting was called Germany, and they wanted to hurt England. One way they did this was by dropping bombs on big cities in England, one of which was called Coventry.
When the bombs fell from the sky, they made loud noises and destroyed buildings and homes. A lot of people were hurt or killed. The people in Coventry had to hide in special underground tunnels called shelters to stay safe.
It was very scary and sad for the people in Coventry, but they were very brave and worked hard to rebuild their city afterwards.
