Covert U.S. regime change actions

Okay, imagine you and your friends are playing a game and you don't like the way one of your friends is playing. You might whisper to the other friends and secretly convince them to stop playing with that friend. That's kind of what the US government sometimes does with other countries' governments. They might not like the way the government is doing things, so they secretly try to convince people in that country to change the government to one that is more to their liking. This is called "regime change." Sometimes they do it in sneaky ways like giving money or weapons to people who want to overthrow the government or spreading lies about the government to make people angry. It's not always a good thing to do and sometimes causes more problems than it solves.
