Crab Rangoon is a popular Chinese restaurant appetizer made of creamy crab meat, cream cheese and seasonings wrapped in wonton wrappers and fried. The wonton wrappers are thin, circular pieces of dough that are usually found in the refrigerated or frozen section of the grocery store. The cream cheese and crab meat mixture is spooned onto the center of the wonton and then the wrapper is folded over, forming a triangle and sealed closed with a dab of water or egg wash. The triangles are then deep-fried until golden brown and served with a sweet and sour or hot mustard dipping sauce.
