Crank (person)

A crank is a person who always complains about things and is really unhappy. Imagine if you had a toy car that you loved to play with, but then someone came along and broke it. You would be really sad and upset, right? Well, imagine if you just kept being upset about that toy car all the time, even if your parents got you a new one or tried to make you feel better. That's kind of what a crank does - they keep talking about the things that make them upset, even if it's not fun for anyone else to hear about it. It's okay to be sad or upset sometimes, but being a crank all the time can make it hard for other people to be around you.
