ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Crankcase

Okay kiddo, so think of the engine of a car like a big puzzle. One part of that puzzle is called the crankcase. The crankcase is like a container that holds the oil that keeps the engine parts lubricated (that's a big word that means it keeps all the parts slippery so they can move around without getting stuck or breaking).

Now imagine the car is like a giant person sitting on top of the engine. When they need to move, all the different parts of the engine have to work together to make them go. The crankcase helps with that because it has a very important job - it stores oil that helps all the different parts of the engine move together smoothly.

So when the person (or car) is driving down the road, the crankcase keeps everything in the engine moving together without making weird noises or breaking. That's why it's such an important part of the puzzle!
