ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Crash-only software

Crash-only software is software that is designed to only work when something goes wrong or crashes. This way, if something does go wrong in the software, it will give you an error message that can be used to help fix the problem. In most cases, the software will automatically shut down and restart, so that the problem is fixed. That way, you don't have to manually restart it, or do a lot of complex troubleshooting.
