Crime of passion

A “crime of passion” is when someone does something illegal because their emotions have gotten the better of them. It usually involves someone doing something wrong because they are angry or hurt, or it can happen when someone becomes so deeply in love that they take desperate measures to keep the relationship going. In general, crimes of passion happen because a person’s feelings overpower their decision-making skills.
