Crisis ecoregion

Okay kiddo, do you know what an ecoregion is? It's like a neighborhood for plants and animals. And they all have their own type of weather, soil, and other things that affect the living things there.

Now, sometimes things can go wrong in these ecoregions. Maybe a big fire happens, or people cut down too many trees. And when something really bad happens, like a disaster, that's called a crisis.

So a crisis ecoregion is a neighborhood for plants and animals that is going through a really tough time. It might not have enough water, or too much pollution, or other problems that make it hard for living things to survive.

Scientists and other people are working to try and help these crisis ecoregions, by cleaning up the pollution, planting new trees, or doing other things to make things better. Because we want all of these neighborhoods to be healthy and happy places for plants and animals to live in!
