Cross-Harbor Rail Tunnel

A cross-harbor rail tunnel is like a super long and big hole that goes under a big body of water called a harbor. The hole is made so that trains can go through it and travel from one side of the harbor to the other.

It's kind of like a secret tunnel, except instead of being hidden under a castle, it's hidden under a body of water!

The reason why we have this tunnel is because it's really important for trains to be able to cross the harbor. There are a lot of people and things that need to be moved from one side of the harbor to the other, and trains are a really fast and efficient way to do that. But without a tunnel, the trains would have to go all the way around the harbor, which would take a long time and use a lot of resources.

So, this big hole called a cross-harbor rail tunnel makes it possible for trains to go from one side of the harbor to the other quickly and easily.
