Cross-cultural psychiatry

Cross-cultural psychiatry is the study of how mental health and illness are experienced in people from different cultures. It looks at how cultural beliefs, values, and traditions can affect mental health, how people from different cultures talk about mental health issues, and how those with mental health issues get help from different cultures. It also explores how different cultures may respond to certain medications or therapies. By understanding these differences, cross-cultural psychiatrists are better able to help people from different cultures get the right type of help they need.
