Crown glass (window)

Okay kiddo, so imagine a really fancy window like the ones you see in castles or palaces. That special glass that they used to make these windows is called crown glass.

So, first, imagine a big pot of melted glass, kinda like when we make melted crayon art. When the glass is really hot and super gooey, they scoop it out with a special tool and then spin it around and around really fast until it turns into a big flat disc - kinda like a pancake.

Now, here's the cool part! Because the glass is spinning so fast, the gooey part moves outwards and the edges get thinner than the middle. So, the middle part is thicker and stronger than the edges! This makes crown glass really sturdy and it doesn't break easily.

After the glass is all cooled down, the window people cut the big disc into smaller shapes to fit into the fancy windows. And voila! You have a fancy-pants window made of crown glass!
