ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cultural Muslim

Okay kiddo, so a Cultural Muslim is someone who identifies culturally with the religion of Islam, even though they may not practice or believe in it as strongly as someone who is more religious. Just like how some people identify as being Italian because their family is from Italy, even though they may not speak Italian or eat Italian food all the time.

They may still celebrate certain cultural elements of Islam, like Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha, which are important holidays for Muslims. They might also have some cultural practices that are influenced by Islam, like not drinking alcohol or eating pork, even if they don't necessarily believe that those things are forbidden by God.

So basically, a Cultural Muslim is someone who feels a connection to Islam and its cultural traditions, even if they don't follow all the religious rules or believe in it as strongly as others.
