ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Curia regis

The curia regis was a fancy name for a group of important people who helped the king make important decisions. Imagine the king was like the teacher in your classroom and the curia regis were like the really smart kids who helped the teacher decide what to do.

The curia regis could include people like the king's top knights or the most important church officials. They would all get together and talk about important things like how to make the kingdom stronger or how to punish someone who did something really bad.

The curia regis was also the name for the building where they would meet. It would be like if your classroom had a special room you only used for really important meetings.

Even though the curia regis doesn't exist anymore, we can still learn from how these people worked together to make smart decisions for the kingdom.
