Curl is a tool used in mathematics to measure something called the "curvature" of a shape. Curvature is how curved something is and it is measured by tiny circles. If a shape is curved, like an oval or a circle, it will have more circles than a straight line or a square. The more circles there are, the more curved the shape is, and so the higher the curvature. Curl measures the number of circles at different points on a shape, and then adds them all up so we can measure the total curvature of the shape.
